I used Freebird for the flight to a good friend's wedding, because it was important that I arrive in time for the rehearsal dinner. The flight kept getting delayed more and more until finally, three hours later, it was cancelled completely. I got a text from Freebird seconds after the cancellation was announced and I chose a new flight. Everyone else on the flight lined up at the kiosks to rebook...I got the last seat on the plane, in first class!
My flight to an important customer meeting was cancelled at the very last minute. I was standing in line with about a 2-hour wait just to talk to the airline's customer service counter to figure something out. Freebird sent me a text and I found the next most convenient flight from my phone, and got rebooked at another airline at no charge. It was one screen to pick a flight, and one confirmation screen. My flight from Detroit was delayed, which would have caused me to miss my connection in Newark. Thank goodness for Freebird! Within minutes, they had me booked on a new flight, which didn't even require a connection (in other words, a direct flight to Boston) . It was totally seamless and I actually got in earlier to Boston. Such a pleasure!
Everyone assumes the airline is going to take care of them, but I was able to step right out of a nightmare of a line and relax thanks to Freebird rebooking my flight. Many of my conference friends weren't that fortunate since they did not use Freebird.
